Marissa Bonnell, MS, CCC-SLP

Marissa earned her bachelor's degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences at Portland State University. She completed her master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. Her areas of special focus are swallowing, aphasia, and cognition. Marissa was born and raised in Hawaii, but has come to recognize Oregon as her home.

She enjoys exploring the region by going hiking with her dog, Lucy.

Rachel Underwood, PTA

Physical Therapy Assistant

As a licensed and ASHA-certified speech-language pathologist, Rachel Underwood is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care through comprehensive evaluation, evidence-based intervention and multidisciplinary collaboration. She has extensive experience working with individuals across a variety of settings, including acute, inpatient, outpatient, and school environments. Rachel maintains up-to-date clinical knowledge by regularly participating in professional development opportunities, ensuring that her practice is informed by the latest research and best practices.

Rachel’s greatest interest and most extensive experience lie in the field of dysphagia. She believes in patient-guided care, which involves taking the time to understand her patients’ unique values, goals and needs. "I believe that the best outcomes are achieved when patients are well-informed and actively involved in their care," she often says.

Outside of work, Rachel dedicates a large portion of her free time to dancing, taking classes to develop new skills as well as social dancing for fun. She also enjoys exploring new hobbies, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Lily Orcutt, MS, CCC-SLP

Lily received her Master’s degree from the University of Oregon where she received broad education in outpatient, inpatient, and school settings. She was then selected to complete my Clinical Fellowship at The NW Clinic for Voice and Swallowing at Oregon Health and Science University, where she obtained specialized clinical training in voice, swallowing, and upper airway disorders, as well as head and neck cancer.

While at OHSU, Lily also conducted research evaluating voice and speech outcomes after deep brain stimulation for patients with Parkinson’s disease.
