The Martin-O鈥橬eil Cancer Center began its affiliation with the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) for clinical trials and expert referrals in 2010. UCSF is one of only 51 cancer centers in the nation with the National Cancer Institute鈥檚 Comprehensive Cancer Center designation. This designation is the NCI鈥檚 highest ranking.
In addition to clinical trials, cancer physicians from the Martin-O鈥橬eil Cancer Center have the opportunity to review select cases at the UCSF interdisciplinary tumor boards to determine the best course of treatment and assure patient access to the most advanced therapies. This means your oncologist may talk about your cancer with some of the best cancer experts available.
